Following the recent amendments to the Romanian accounting legislation brought by Order of Ministry of Public Finance no. 3055/2009 (abrogating the provisions of Order no. 1752/2005) and by Order of the Ministry of Public Finance no. 2861/2009 (abrogating the provisions of Order no. 1753/2004), we are delighted to invite you to the seminar regarding the amendments brought to the accounting and inventory regulations, organised by Mazars on 10 December 2009. During this seminar the amendments brought to the Tax Code effective as of 1 January 2010 will be debated as well.

Starting 1 January 2010, the Romanian accounting legislation will be substantially amended. Order of the Ministry of Public Finance no. 3055/2009 abrogates the existing accounting regulations (Order no. 1752 / 2005) and brings major changes in the Romanian accounting legislation.

Although OMFP no. 3055/2009 does not bring any changes to the format of the annual financial statements, its new provisions refer however to the largest part of the elements of the financial statements. The direct implications for companies refer both to the requirement of gaining a broad understanding of the new accounting regulations, and to the potential need of customizing the accounting software, in order to implement the regulations applicable starting with 1 January 2010.

Moreover, starting 31 December 2009, the annual inventory of all items of the company’s patrimony is also governed by new regulations, approved through Order of the Ministry of Public Finance no. 2861/2009 (abrogating the provisions of Order no. 1753/2004).
