Mazars Romania enters the short list for the 11th edition of the European Tax Awards, according to the announcement published by the International Tax Review. Mazars Romania’s Tax team competes in three categories: Central European Tax Firm of the Year, Central European Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year and ECJ Firm of the Year - Indirect Tax.

René Schöb, Country Managing Partner Mazars Romania: “It is the first year when we participate at this prestigious competition. This is an important moment for us, as Mazars celebrates in 2015 the 20th anniversary in Romania. The fact that our achievements enter the short list for two key award categories confirms our team’s value and strong reputation for providing top quality support for clients and places our people’s expertise in the 1st tier of the Central European tax professionals.”

Besides Mazars Romania, Turkish Mazars Denge is also present in this competition, for the Turkey Tax Firm of the Year award.

European Tax Awards have taken place annually since 2005 and seek to recognize the leading international tax professionals from around Europe. The list of nominations announced for 2015 comprises 48 national and 27 regional award categories for European firm of the year in tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax and tax disputes, as well as deal categories covering the best works in 11 practice areas and industry sectors - capital markets, M&A, financial services and banking, etc.

The firms submitted works done between January 1 and December 31, 2014. The finalists have been chosen following an independent, in-depth research held by the International Tax Review’s editorial team and evaluated based on the projects’ size, innovation and complexity.

Winners will be announced on May 21, within an awards ceremony held in London.
